Next Rockford welcomes Candace Dixon and Dorothy (Schneider) Wallheimer to its Strategy Team.

Candace Dixon is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. Candace has traveled and worked in over 10 countries and countless cities increasing her level of flexibility and creative solutions. She was raised in Rockford, IL and to date it holds a special place in her heart because it laid the foundation for who she is today. She is committed to supporting the Rockford community, living and teaching her alma mater’s motto “Find A Way or Make One”. She is a manager at Accenture Consulting.

Dorothy (Schneider) Wallheimer is a Rockford native and Auburn grad. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois. Dorothy spent a decade working for newspapers as a reporter and editor, most recently at the Rockford Register Star. She is now the communications manager for Exelon’s nuclear power plant in Byron. She and her husband, Brian, have three children (Ellie, 7; Katie, 4; Charlie, 2), and you might read about their exploits in the Hitched blog and column at rrstar.com. Dorothy is an IRead volunteer and an avid runner.

Next Rockford’s 2016 initiatives included support of Alignment Rockford, Rockford Area Economic Development Council (RAEDC), Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (RACVB) and Rebuilding Rockford. It also oversaw a book drive and a boots and coats drive, both benefitting students in Rockford Public Schools.
